Funniest Show Ever.
We came to this show with high expectations that were unrealistically met. Anberlin's humor, which we usually find vulgar, in poor taste, and offensive, is exactly what we look for in a comedian. Introduced to him via Netflix, we have since watched additional specials and clips on YouTube. Being pretty cheap, forking out around $90 for tickets meant that the bar was set pretty high for us.
Anberlin surpassed our expectations as he did an amazing job of shooting from the hip and firing back in witty ways at our crowd of several hecklers in Atlanta on Valentines day. The performance felt "meaty" in its depth and its length, with each segment well thought out. We had not heard most of his material, and what we had heard was from obscure sources that only creepy stalkers will be familiar with. It was gut wrenchingly funny and had all the stylistic marks that he is known for.
Racing to buy tickets to see him in Boston at its end, we definitely recommend catching a show.
